Canadian sales taxes

GST (5%) is the federal goods and services tax applied nationwide. HST (13-15%) merges GST with the provincial portion in Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland & Labrador, and PEI. Non-HST provinces charge GST plus a separate PST or (in Quebec) QST.
