Definition

What is NISA?

The new Tsumitate NISA (from 2024) lets Japanese residents invest up to ¥3.6m/year (¥18m lifetime cap) in eligible funds tax-free. Dividends, interest, and capital gains are exempt indefinitely. Replaces the old NISA + Tsumitate NISA framework with a single permanent tax-free wrapper.
