What is iDeCo?
iDeCo is Japan's voluntary individual pension. Contributions are fully deductible from income tax and inhabitant tax (up to ¥816k/year for a company employee without a corporate DC plan). Funds grow tax-free; withdrawals from age 60 are taxed favourably as retirement or lump-sum income.
